As a Parallel Event to Manifesta 7, the European Biennial of Contemporary Art (July - November 2008), Sound Threshold was inaugurated on 16 July 2008 with a live concert by Fovea Hex and Blind Cave Salamander at Terrazza delle Stelle (Terrace of the Stars) on Monte Bondone, 1600 m. above sea level. This unique listening location, situated just above an astronomical observatory and surrounded by the alpine mountains, offered a panorama of voices at high altitude in which to engage with the sound, the landscape and the manifold audio textures of the place.
